beautifully dressed for christmas: Luella Bartley, Liberty’s

This year, the beautifully eclectic department store Liberty has teamed up
with British designer Luella Bartley to create a unique take on British
Christmas traditions. With a giant tinsel robin and traditional patriotic
scenes of living rooms over-decorated with paper chains, Christmas cards
and tacky decorations, this window display is guaranteed to get you in
the Christmas spirit… well worth a look if you can brave Regent Street
this year!

beautiful trees: John Galliano, St Pancras station, Rent a Tree

This year we have seen some truly beautiful examples of Christmas trees;
from beautifully crafted through to beautifully eco…

Flamboyant Dior fashion designer John Galliano was asked by luxury
London hotel Claridge’s to design a tree, the result of which is beautifully
festive yet innovative. Rising proudly from the grand staircase, the unique
tree is adorned with snow leopards, dragonflies and even parrots, which
are said to echo the hotel’s art deco building.

And at St Pancras station, up until 24th December, nine ice sculptures will
be specially commissioned, each telling a different story – a new
sculpture will appear every couple of days and, if you’re lucky, you may
even see the artists carving them.

Thirdly, if you have not yet purchased your Christmas tree this year why
not spare a thought for the environment and rent a tree? Christmas Tree
Man will deliver a tree in a pot, then after New Year’s Day will take it away
and replant it. You can even have your tree labelled so that you can have
the same one again next December. Go to www.christmastreeman.co.uk

to place your order.

beautiful christmas breakfast: Inishturkbeg Seafood

This festive season just wouldn’t be complete without indulging in some
smoked seafood and we have the perfect recommendation…

Sold exclusively in Harrods, Inishturkbeg offers a range of Salmon,
Mackerel and Tuna which are carefully contained in beautiful packaging
designed by us here at Coley Porter Bell UK (well… we would say that
wouldn’t we!)

“We believe the food we sell should reflect the way our life’s vividly lived.
And that means bringing out the very best flavours from our very finest
produce. All our fish are either wild or organically-farmed, caught in the
fast-moving north-east Atlantic”- Inishturkbeg

Head to the seafood hall in Harrods, or, to find more about what
Inishturkbeg has to offer, visit their website: www.inishturkbeg.com

beautiful thinking: Rethink, Copenhagen & Earth, Academy of Arts

With the UN conference in Copenhagen now in full swing, it is not just
politicians who are addressing the global issue of climate change…
Artists have taken it upon themselves to find alternative ways to engage
the world on this thought provoking subject.

Rethink – Contemporary Art & Climate Change is an exhibition of 26 works
by important Nordic and international artists including Thomás Saraceno
(above left) and Olafur Eliasson (above centre), the goal of which is to
make people rethink the issue of climate change and bring out new
perspectives. The exhibition will run in Copenhagen, Denmark,
throughout December. To find out more visit
www.rethinkclimate.org/exhibition

Alternatively, if Copenhagen is a little too far afield, Earth: Art of a
Changing World is an exhibition currently running at the Royal Academy
of Arts which features a variety of artworks by 30 international artists.
It examines the notion of climate change and how it is perceived by the
media and political figures. The exhibition will run until 31st January – to

prescribing you with a kitsch, colourful collection to keep you occupied
until the new year…

place.  With ice skating & mulled wine, it is the perfect place to spend
a winters evening in London”- Katie Monk, CPB Planner .

And if you get a chance, pop into our offices in Victoria to see our joyous
wonderwall, decorated with an army of blow-up santas and snowmen…
